Have passed two hunting tests. Spring test that includes field work, pointing, use of nose, cooperation, tracking, gun sensitivity, search in the field.
Fall test that includes all of the sping test elements plus water work. Gun senitivity in the water, blind retrieve, and duck search.
The breed show looks at the coat (hair) and build (form) of the dog. Hair includes length of hair, coarseness, under coat, coverage, and furnishings (beard). Form looks at all of the attributes of the dogs build, also the temperment of the dog.
Also, dogs must be classified as hip dysplasia free by Germany.
